Beryne Odeny, assistant professor of Surgery in Washington University in St. Louis, holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi, a master of Public Health degree, and a PhD in Dissemination and Implementation Science from the University of Washington, Seattle. She has held various editorial roles at PLoS Medicine, PLoS ONE, and will be joining PLoS Global Public Health as an academic editor. She is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in scholarly publishing as evident in her most recent article titled "Time to End Parachute Science." Odeny's research centers on Implementation Science to understand and address health disparities, population-level health access gaps, and health system challenges with a special focus on electronic health information systems. She is passionate about rapid and equitable discovery of scientific evidence from, and across, low resource settings.
